Default First impressions of an 08 RS4

Bought a very clean 08 RS4 from a fellow Audiworld member this Friday. Have put close to 400 miles on it since, just wanted to share some first impressions with you.
Coming from an E55 AMG I have not felt a lack of power from the RS4, which was one of my concerns getting in to the car. The torque kicks in very low down in the rev range and doesn't let up, took a couple of hours but generally I am driving a lot smoother than when I first got it with sports mode engaged. Definitely has a sensitive throttle but it's just the nature of the car. The car feels at least in the seat as fast as the E55. The exhaust note is fantastic, even in stock form. I have been thinking of superlatives to describe it, but the most immediate one that comes to mind is "Angry". You may or may not agree with me but the sound coming from the exhaust is pure unadulterated Anger! Like the engine swallowed something it didn't like through that massive grill and can't seem to get rid of it! I love it. The ride is great too, firmer than my lowered E55, but less firm than my old lowered 996 911. It's a good compromise between the two with confidence inspiring handling. This is my first foray in the 4WD world and I now see what everyone has been talking about! The seats are very comfortable and the driving position excellent. The clutch pedal is a little close to the brake and generally closer together than what I am used to, but it didn't take long to get used to the set-up. I am sure it's for heel and toeing or left foot braking or something I probably will never do, unless I get some serious instruction!
Well thanks for reading and will be writing more as I gain more experience with the machine....happy motoring! And enjoy the pics:

Default Congrats!

Heel-toeing just takes practice. Work on it in everyday driving. Makes running to the grocery store more fun.

Thanks for the impressions, as well as the photo's. I've got a fairly long wait for mine, june or july, and I've only had one short drive in an RS4. It was enough to make me open my wallet though, and get ready to turn in my leased S4 cab. Posts like yours are helping fuel my anticipation and get me through the long wait.
