First oil change:
pretty easy...~ the same as the e46 m3...
the underpan is a pita, a lot of fasteners...
all pretty easy to get back on except the brake duct ones...thinking about measuring and using a hole saw...then some helicopter tape or something...
took 10 full qts...1/2 way between hatch marks and 'full'...
Castrol 5/40 Syntec
one 'ouch', $25 for an oil filter from Audi?!
that's as bad as BMW's 'magic' 10/60 Castrol oil...lol
all in all, pretty nice set-up...

The oil filter is on the top and is a PIA to get the old cartridge loose

I made a trap door for future oil changes
and I am running Mobil 0-40 with OK results from the oil analysis by Dyson.<ul><li><a href="https://forums.audiworld.com/rs4b7/msgs/104208.phtml">Story</a></li></ul>

Re: pretty clever trap door...
mine was pretty easy...
just grasp and twist slow & firm...popped right out...
what took a bit more time that it should have was getting the 1/4 turn fasteners on either side of the brake ducts to engage...
this was my first time on this car...next time should be easier...took a bit over 1 hr start to finish...on a full lift...took my time, checked for leaks on the shocks, cleaned the plastic shield, etc.
noticed that the brake ducts only had one screw holding each on (the ones inside the fenderwell)...I popped in a couple of plastic push rivets...

That is not a bad idea. I just might try that myself. Saw the underpanel last night
for the first time, looking at the first oil change here over the holidays...now thinking about the dipstick-tube oil extractor systems...

Can't use oil extractors...
Audi explicitly advises that oil extractors cannot be used, as they cannot extract all of the oil from the reservoir. Pity, too, since I have a pretty decent one that worked nicely with my B6 S4.
I managed to destroy the oil filter cap during my first attempt at changing the oil. Damn thing just didn't want to come off. Had to order a new part: $90 and 4 days for the part to ship from CA.
