First serious problem (kinda)...
I didn't touch the car for 4 days and when I started her up this morning it was coughing quite badly and the engine light came on. The car went into the lump home mode and I couldn't do more than 40km/h. Called the dealer and they suggested that I turned off the car and wait for awhile before restarting. I went off to do some work and came back about 4 hours later and started it up again. This time there was no sign of trouble and the car was running as smoothly as before. I think I will take it in and hook up the computer and see what fault code it gives.
Has anyone experience anything like that? BTW, I have done about 3,500km on it.

If I recall, Parikh1234 had a similar problem, due to bad fuel (edited)
I suspect you'll get multiple cylinder misfire codes. Sounds like plugs fouling. You might use a fuel additive like FP60 with each tank of fuel.
What part of the country are you located in?
There's also an owner out on the tip of Cape Cod that had excessive intake valve deposits due to bad fuel (or at least so Audi said), which was causing ECU fault codes. They could never fix it to his satisfaction, so he returned it under the Lemon Law. It now sits on the dealer's lot.

i had a similar instance where the car stumbled and got a CEL
dealer computer read a misfire code on right bank of cylinders. AoA instructed the dealer to clean and swap injectors and said they really didn't know why it happened. hasn't happened since. weird.

Re: First serious problem (kinda)...
I was also thinking about the fuel as well due to the sensitive nature of the FSI. However, I have not had a problem with my A6, which is a 3.2 FSI for the last 1.5 year. Also I have been feeding them exclusively on ESSO Mobil F1, which is a top grade 98 Octane with fuel additive. Anyway, I will take itin some time next week and see.
I do not live in the US btw.

Mine sat at an airport for a long weekend. I thought lightning must have hit nearby as I ...
limped home. Called the dealer and they said bring it in. Restarted it and all sputtering was gone, running perfectly. Took it to dealer and they found no codes. I think it's like the PC guy on TV, he falls down once in a while but gets back up and all is well.
