Choose??? Suede was the only option...
If I had to choose I would have got alcantara since my wife had it on her TT and I knew what I was dealing with.
I'm guessing Audi went with suede for a reason, I just don't know what it was.
The suede black is more black then the alcantara black, so maybe that's whey they went that route?
I also think the suede has a slightly better grip feel to it over the alcantara IMHO.

how is it holding up?
Are there any staining issues? The reason I ask is because I am considering rewrapping my euro wheels and **** and brake handle to either material.

I would go with alcantara over suede then....
The suede is holding up fine, but that's b/c I'm super cautious with it. I cover it when I go to the dealer and just about anywhere I'm not the one driving.
Alcantara is much easier to maintain.
The steering wheel will be the toughest part to get done. When I was going to have my leather Euro wheel done (before the suede was available to purchase) I couldn't find anyone willing to do it. Everyone told me they don't do it in house and they won't warranty the work. I hope you have better luck then I did.
