Default Follow up on Milltek, Non-res, Valved

After getting the valve issue to a non-issue and being able to drive around for several days, I am very happy with this setup. As I said in the earlier post I think I was getting some very odd sound results from one valve open and one valve shut.

Since the default setting is valve open when the engine is off (no vaccuum) the thing roars when I start it, then in about 2-3 seconds, the valves shut and it gets more tame. I'm sure some of my neighbors will know when I leave for work in the morning by the start up. The B6 also booms to life when my wife starts it in the morning.

With the valves shut, it's not any louder than the full milltek on the B6 (resonated muffler). The sound is a little different though. This car also has a lot more intake noise than the B6, so both sound great together. I had said before when I couldn't get the one valve to shut that it made the car sound cheap. With the system working this is not the case. With the valves open it sounds pretty good as well.

I like having the option of the valves and for now don't see any need for the resonators.

That's good as I was wondering how 2 setups that are identicle could be described as sounding so different.

Glad to hear you're happy with it now.

Default Not really. Maybe only slight at low rpms with valves open. Not anymore noticeable than the B6

setup with downpipes.

Default I had a B6 with Milltek DP's and resonated cat back and absolutely

no drone. I loved that setup. It was quiet yet still had authority. Is this what i can expect from a valved, non-res cat back?

It's a little different. I'd hate to be the one to give advice on a system this expensive without you either taking the chance (you can always put on resonators) or driving one yourself. I "guess" there may be a hint of lower rpm band sound that some may consider drone. But I don't really consider it so. I like the overall sound, including the intake sound on this car a little better than the B6 setup, which is the same one you have.
