Front disk rotors at 65,000 miles: still plenty good
A few of us RS4 owners have been able to eek out good mileage from our EXPENSIVE Brembo floating disks. I've been running Centric Posi Quiet brake pads because they're very kind to rotors, almost completely dustless, and they're dirt cheap (pardon the pun).
At 65,000 miles, these rotors measured 32.76mm. If my research is correct, new OEM rotors are 34mm while the minimum thickness is 32mm. So these still have some miles left in them. I seriously doubt many owners measure them, or try to measure them with calipers which is useless because it only reads the thickness at the ridge. The forums have lots of reports of rotors being replaced with far, far less miles and no evidence of a measurement, just because "there's a ridge". Big deal (not!). Gentlemen, get out your micrometers...
