Fuel consumption - RS4 vs. B6/B7 S4 vs. B5 S4 (stage 2) --> real life, not EPA!
I am interested in knowing what milage in real life people are getting in RS4 compared to V8 S4 and the B5 S4?
I saw someone posted earlier that when they moved from B6 S4 to B7 RS4, the gas milage actually improved! which is quite a statment...
I am getting pretty poor gas milage out of my Stage 2 B5 S4, but it's ok for me as I only drive 5-6K/year, now not sure how an RS4 compares to it?
Thanks

B7 RS4
3.5k miles so far...
HW, cruise at 70-75, 23 mpg
avg around town & HW combination 19-20
all calculated from odometer and gas pump numbers, not OBC (although it's very close, about 1 mpg high)
if you flog it hard it will dip down to ~15mpg...

Re: but not in the city you mean?
I'm only going by the dashboard average readout, but to me it seems that the RS is less efficient in the warmup cycle. Once its warm, the MPG is usually around 17-21. Really hard to get 22 MPG except on long highway runs.
I dont do a ton of city driving, so I cant say too much about that.
And this is just my personal observation, not fact.

My city mileage in my B5 S4 (stg 2) was nearly identical to city mileage in my B6 S4.
I'd say the B5 got 1 to 2 mpg better on city tanks than my B6 does. Highway mileage is a totally different story though.
BTW, my numbers are based on actual calculations at fillup, not the trip computer.
