Default FYI: iPhone does indeed pair with the RS4.

my contact list paired up almost instantaneously. one caveat is that the iPhone has to be UNLOCKED and obviously powered on in order to pair. the default setting puts the iPhone into locked mode after 1 minute of inactivity...if you leave it that way, it will unpair from the vehicle as soon as it enters locked mode.

Default love it.

the web browsing capability is amazing for something that small. I posted last night that I'm able to use it to log in to my hospital and view digitized xrays, EKGs, lab results, and other medical records for my patients...zoom in, rotate, etc. it's extremely intuitive to use.

the only downsides so far are 1) Flash websites won't run on it, and 2) even the 8GB is too small, IMHO. I have about 20GB of music on my iPod, so not even half of my library would fit on the iPhone.

Default I'm curious how your battery life will be

Sounds like you're using it quite a bit. How's the battery charge holding? Are you recharging it every night, or will you be able to go a couple of days?

TIA

Default it was fully charged when I opened the box....

...and the battery meter indicates about 50% right now. The only time it was plugged in was to activate the phone and sync with my laptop....maybe 10-15 minutes. It wasn't plugged in overnight.

I used it for about an hour last night, and it's been on for most of today, though the screen has been powered up for maybe just 2-3 hours. the EDGE network data indicates i've sent 307KB and received 3.2MB total.

Default yeah, I paired it, started driving and it unpaired as soon as it locked.

oddly enough, it stays paired in my BMW when it goes into locked mode. i'll have to try it again in the RS4...strange.

Default unlocking an iPhone is not yet possible at this point and may not ever be possible...

at least in a form where you will still be able to use all of its features. Don't confuse it with how the term 'unlocking' was used in this thread. Bob was referring to 'unlocking' the iPhone from a 'locked' standby mode, which is simply a display-off touch-screen de-activated mode for when you're carrying it in your pocket.

If you have an existing AT&T plan, you simply have to switch over to one of the specialized "iPhone plans" for a 2-year contract which I believe starts at $60 for the cheapest 450 minute nationwide + rollover + unlimited data transfer. If you're on an existing AT&T contract, you simply start over to a new 2-year contract the day you activate your iPhone.
