Getting my oil changed tomorrow at Audi Dealer
Is there any specific oil I should be asking for, or are they good about getting the right stuff in there? I don't mind going and buying my own and bringing it to them. I was going to stick with Mobil 1 which worked great in my S4 but am open to recommendations.
What does the dealer use anyways? I had Castrol noteed under my hood. This is the first oil change, 3400 miles.
7 quarts?

I've had three oil changes now, at three different dealers, and each one...
has managed to drip either new oil onto the exhaust manifold, or old oil from the filter down onto the cat expansion units, or whatever they're called, causing a burning oil smell for at least three weeks, each time. It's really irritating, but it's also because I'm too lazy to do it by myself.
Taking the wet filter out is probably the most likely culprit in getting oil where it shouldn't be and causing that awful smell. So if they're careful and not rushed, hopefully you'll have better results than I've had.
Edit: More to the point of the post, I've used Castrol 5W40 since it was new.

That's correct
5w-40 is not an easy oil weight to come by. 5w-30 is much mucch more common. I would f*ck the 5w-40 and use 5w-30 as long as oil consumption does not become an issue.

Re: That's correct
I asked dealer, they have Castrol 5W40 in stock, all they use on this model. So should be all set. Getting the oil changed today, and they are looking for leaks on the DRC, since I am seeing small puddles of stuff left front and right rear in my garage.

Right, Castrol...
and Valvoline offer a 502 approved full synthetic in 5w-40. Otherwise you're pretty much going overseas for it. While a common weight in Europe, it's almost unheard of in American blends.
