Got my Milltek non-res non-valved installed!
Very happy with it and glad I went with non-res because it is surprisingly tame and quieter than what I expected (good thing). I was on the fence about getting resonated instead and feared that the non-resonated I ordered might be too obnoxious. Well, it actually isn't. It's just perfect.
I can definitely feel a little extra on the butt dyno in 2nd and 3rd gear to redline... not sure if maybe it's just more sound translating into a false sensation of more pull, but whatever, I feel something and it's all good.
Net gains:
- no more reaching for the S button
- ear-to-ear grin at full throttle pulls
- approx 20 lbs weight savings? (didn't actually weigh it)
- extra power/torque? (didn't have time to get it dyno'd)
- nice looking tips that blend in nicely w/ curvature of bumper
- dirty looks from pedestrians and other cars when slowing down for stoplights in gear

not too loud...hmm....
good to know. I wonder how it would sound with no mufflers at all, just straight pipes from the DPs/cats back. seriously! hell, people ride their stupid Harley's around with bare pipes, so why can't I?

You could do that and be just like the "stupid Harley guys", but then your luxury car will become as uncomfortable and fatiguing as a noisy Harley.
Reminds me of a joke I told my kids when they were very young. I was a sportbike owner and my kids always waved at motorcycles. Harley guys typically would not return the wave. When my kids asked why Harley guys wouldn't wave, I told them they didn't use underarm deoderant and were hiding the big wet spot under their arms. Unkind as hell - but they started it!
