Default Guys..How about the placement of LPP transponders here........

Not my first choice, in fact my third choice...I have just placed them in their potential place, not fixed at all...the major advantages are not having to remove the grill or the bumber, and no cutting of the grill.
Look closely on my lower air dam...you will see the transponders...Some do not think this is too low..thoughts??? Sorry about the crappy pics off my blackberry pearl.......get the camera back this weekend from the fiance.

the full view......

Default Ya I thought it looks too low too. The target areas will be the headlights and the 0000, so I was

going to place mine just above the grill insert.

Default depends on how close the LIDAR gun is

The radius of the LIDAR cone is about 4.6" per 100 ft. I just went out and measured the front end. The center of your transponders are mounted 9" from the road, 9.5" from the center axis of the car. The center of the Audi rings is about 19" away from each transponder.

So, at about 400 feet, you have coverage of most of the center of mass, and at about 500 feet you would have full coverage. At 60 mph you're traveling at 88 ft/sec. So, you have approximately 5 seconds of potential vulnerability.

Default this might help somewhat

This is a thread on radardetector.net that I started in regards to best laser diffuser and also ideal or good installation spots.

http://www.radardetector.net/%26quot%3BBest-Jammer%26quot%3B--Please-help.-15037t.php</a

Default Re: ELEVENS...can you chime in???

I'm not sure my two cents is worth face value, but since you asked...

The thing is, you won't know if it's too low until you get official documentation from the revenue generator. I also had my transponder down there initially but moved it up higher.

Another thing to consider is if you drive in snow country or even freezing climates. The lower lip spoiler easily collects snow and ice which renders the transponders useless but you'll have no indication or warning that you're running around with your pants down.

Earlier in this thread star607 has a good link to another thread at radardetector.net. That thread mentions using VEIL. People should understand that VEIL looks like shibby when applied - something like coating honey on your beautiful RS4. But the stuff is effective.

Default Consensus rom guys that test location is too low

They are able to get punchthrough when the heads are placed that low on a number of cars....

Regarding veil..on my S4, I had a license plate shield as well as veil on the lights and the front chrome...It did look shi&&y up close. It was very effective though. It will actually make a redar/laser detector somewhat useful. I got hit twice travelling at 85-90 in a 65 on the interstate, and was not pulled over.

I'll have to go about removing the bumper and the grill.....Painful though.
