Had a stone chip repaired on the windshield... bad idea
Well they tried to repair a stone chip the size of a BB and now it's a 2" crack. A new OEM Audi windshield is being installed on Friday.
Heads-up: if it's a very small chip, you might want to skip the repair. The tech says it happens quite a lot - he even told me that before he started the work. dammit!

i just replaced mine and...
all i can say is the chip started extremely tiny and soon grew to a foot and a half crack across my windsheild within 4 days(not an exageration). it grew 8 inches to the left of the chip then grew another 10 to the right and a 2 inch crack straight down to the bottom of the winshield. they claimed it would not collapse but better safe than sorry

weird. I had a 2 inch crack at the bottom of my windsheild that started as a little chip...
and I got mine fixed by a guy and it looks great. Saved me the 400 bucks on a new windsheild.

Bob, did they find a windshield for you yet?
My parts guy says there are exactly zero on the continent. We're good friends (coached football with him) so he pulled some strings and found one at another dealer. It's the same part number for all B7 A4's "Acoustic" but still nada-zip.
Had to pay frikin' $250 deductable. Even so, the odds of me making a claim is likely waaaay less than Mr. Average Joe. Maybe I'll ask about premiums for upping the deduct even more...
