Was wondering if anyone else had experienced this: for the first time the other day above 6,000 revs (conditions were cold, dry but with the car warmed up nicely), there was a harsh vibrational noise appearing to come from the outside front passenger side. If I hadn't thought I heard the sound coming from there, I would have said it sounded like the exhaust sound was really harsh.

Was the same whether "S" button was engaged or not. Seemed to coincide with peak exhaust noise. Happened each time I drove the car over a few hours.

Next day, tried to reproduce it and it sounded perfect again. I figure if it was a loose panel or something, then it wouldn't have gone away.

Did a search and could'nt find a thread relating to this.

Great question and good point. I had that problem on my last car (SLK 350).

I'll check that out and see if that's the source.

Oh, and yes....stock exhaust.
