Has anybody put in 10 qts of oil?
I followed the procedure to the letter. Warm it up past 158F, allow a few minutes to drain back, and check it. My garage is very level, car won't even roll in neutral. I put in 8 qts, expecting it to be 0.5 qt low (middle of the range), for topping up warm right to max. 8 qts didn't even register on the dipstick. 9 qts took it right to min.
It took 10 qts (first change) to get it within a couple millimeters of max.
It's dark and rainy now, so it's staying in. I'll watch the level the first time I take it for a proper drive.

Now that I think of it, my car would also need 10 quarts if I filled it up to the top mark. Keeping it at the 1/2 mark, my car used less than a quart in 14,000 miles and 4 changes. Keeping the oil level at half-way between the marks seems to help reduce oil consumption. A few other owners have seen this as well.
