Has anyone ever tracked their RS4?.....

A buddy of mine took his RS up to Lime Rock while I was there. He was obviously quicker in the straights but surprisingly I was quicker in the corners. I contribute this to the R32 being lighter .Plus the RS has a lot of weight hanging over the front axles.
A few clips from Lime Rock & Thunder Bolt in the R32

it's not a track car or a race car...it's a high performance street car
racing on the street is stupid and who in their right mind is going to take their street car daily driver to go fender to fender racing...
it's a STREET car
I experienced its 'true potential' this evening...
nice back road, jazz on the CD, horizontal rain and near freezing temps...
nice steady, sure footed, quattro enhanced pace...safely
NO modern car can ever reach it's cornering limits or top speed on public roads...
so every car must be tracked to be appreciated? not hardly
a base golf will do 120 and pull ~0.8 g...
this car weighs 4000 lbs and has ~60% on the front axle, hardly the geometry for a track car..lol
this car is meant for daily use in a place like Germany (autobahn) not the US and definitely not competetive racing...it's a STREET car...

Still in the honeymoon phase with the RS4
I tend to agree with Arthur above - it would be fun for a few laps but it's just too heavy. I bought the RS4 for what it is - a high performance street machine that can handle about any weather. The Z06 comes out when I need a high torque, high G-force fix. But if you do track days regularly, set aside some brake pad money!

But I bought a 951 for that use, not racing, but learning, so if I break or bend it, I can still get to work...lol
don't you need a seat, fire equipment and cage to really 'race'?
other than 'gentlemens' racing, and is that really racing?
tires would be consumed very quickly on a 4000 lb, awd car...at $1200+/set
I know all about 'tire management', but physics doesn't negotiate

To clarify to the OP -
I am referring to track days - not fender to fender racing. Your warranty and typically your insurance are void once you get on that track so a dedicated track car is the best solution. Have fun!
