has anyone painted their brushed aluminum trim/mirrors?
I powder coated my OEM wheels anthracite. Looks great with daytona grey. I already have black optics grill. I'm thinking of darkening my trim to match the anthracite. Has anyone tried painting their trim? I heard this doesn't work well.
The other alternative is to order black optics trim. Has anyone tried this? How difficult is it to remove/reinstall the trim?
Thanks.

I actually replaced all my trim and only painted on the plastic...
like the mirrors and trim piece below the trunk. I got the vin number from an a4 with the black optic trim and got all the pieces from it and had it installed. I also had the yellow and orange side reflectors smoked out by a local autobody shop.

link

i think youll be happy if you do it, although my body shop said it was a pain to remove the trim..
and lately ive discovered that rock chips revealed the old silver trim underneath...which i guess is inevitable over time
