Default Help With EPC Light

Driving on the highway and the EPC light comes on. I pull of the road turn car off wait a few seconds start up and the EPC light is off now. Car drives fine. I am wondering what triggered the light and now that it is not on do I need to go in to Audi for service. The manual says the light controls engine electronics(very general). opinons please. Thanks

Default It could be hundreds of things. Either find a VAG-com or go see Audi. Not much else you can do.

Asking here sure won't help it.

Default Re: It could be hundreds of things.

I guess what I am asking is if the EPC light is now off should I bring it in to the dealer or wait to see if it happens again. Also would the code that triggered the EPC be storred. I am affraid to bring to Audi with the light off now and then get charged for the visit, I rather go in with the light on.

Default How would you be charged? You're under warranty, right? Chances are the code was stored.

Like I said, find someone in your area with a VAG-com if you want to stay away from the dealer.

Default Take it to the dealer...there will be stored codes. Do a search on EPC you'll find a bunch of info.

My EPC lights(had it come on 2x thus far) lead to having a TSB done for the first and then the intake manifold replaced for the second.

The car might feel fine, but it may not be operating at 100%.

Default My EPC light came on recently and I took it to the dealer. They reckon it's a faulty relay...

Apparently they did a bunch of diagnosis but need a part to fix it... which of course they didn't have.

In my case, they said there is no problem driving the car.
