Default HELP!!!! freak accident

My B5 S4 spent 9 years without a dent, and my 9 month old RS4 just got hit by the open door of a Honda accord that a Valet driver let slip down the road and found the opening between the passenger's front and rear doors. It could have been far worse but, bad enought to make me want to replace both doors. However, I have some doubts on how to proceed:
1) are the RS4 doors same as the A4s?
2) should I replace to avoid fill material at the expense of potential rattles on reassembly?
3) can Audi supply pre-painted doors to assure perfect color matching?

What would you guys do??

Car was not in Valet service, it just wasn't my day.

thanks in advance,

Javier

Front door should be the same as the a4, back I'm not sure because of the flared fenders.

Default I wouldn't worry too much about reassembly if you get new doors...

There is nothing in there that can't be put back together properly.

I'd be more worried about the paint job and matching the color properly especially the rest of the car on that side. They will most likely have the "blend" the front and rear fenders with the doors.

The type of color/finish with how the original paint faded depending on age and atmospheric conditions in your area may dictate how they will proceed.

BTW, I hate it when **** like that happens! Sorry for your troubles.

Default Both body parts and paint are new enough to match w/o any problem. The difficulty

is when cars get older.

Default "They share no sheet metal with A4/S4 with the exception of roofline and 4 doors" ( JM,RM,JD,RK?)

What happened? The gap between the passenger's front and rear doors was hit by an open door on a Honda accord that a Valet driver let slip down the road? Or was did the door swing into you from a car parked (uphill) next to you ?

Hard to determine damage but you should check and see what they can do,,,, replacing doors/skins/etc could turn out worse... You can always replace the doors but may be better off sticking with the 'factory-fit' pieces...

Default I feel your pain

Very frustrating. My advice would be to find the very best body shop in your area...where do you live? And do what they tell you to do. I know of the best in the NY and Denver area but can't help you elsewhere.

Default option 1: find a good shop on your own.

option 2: ask your Audi dealer to take care of it.

if you have a lot of friends or colleagues with high end cars, you should be able to determine who does the best bodywork and paint in your area. my wife had someone "let fly" one of those lumber carts at home depot into the fender of her 2-week-old 750i...entire fender had to be fixed and repainted, but you'd never know it. finding the best shop is the key.

Default Re: the Honda's open door hit my car on its way

back into a parking space next to mine with no driver inside! (valet walked out of car on a hill while in neutral) The honda's door hit exactly between both doors, crushing the front endo of the rear door and messing up the back end of the front door. Just no explanation. **** happens.
Door replacement, paint and blending $3200 based on today's estimate.

let's see. Thanks for the input.
