Default Here is the email i got from Novidem. LOL @ the Price.

Thank you very much for your interest in upgrading your car with a Novidem High-Tech Supercharger.

From 2008 it is possible to purchase a conversion kit for installation in countries where we do not have a Novidem distributor. We highly recommend installation at a knowledgeable workshop.

Our kits come in a box, complete with an English manual and pictures to ease installation. All parts needed, down to the last little screw are included and its contents has been double-checked by our qualified technicians.

Novidem superchargers are being developed and manufactured in Switzerland, using the latest CNC machinery and the best materials available. All components are thoroughly tested for both performance and longevity. We test drive all our kits on racetracks such as Hockenheim and Nurburgring to make sure they withstand the hardest conditions.

Please find the detailed data for your vehicle below, including our estimates for shipping and handling to your country:

The kit is available starting from March / April 2008

Vehicle type and year: Audi RS4 ( Typ B7 )

Torque and Horsepower: 530 NM / 500 PS

Price without local customs and tax: US $ 24`000 .-

Default Thats better than 35k, but still ridiculous for those kinds of gains. I just can't see who would

pay that kind of money with the competition out there car wise. I bet one could put another engine in an RS4 for that kind of money. Which may be a better idea specially if the Supercharger blows up the engine, you would have to buy an engine twice!

Default Exactly. I understand that parts engineered for this car are going to be more costly for several

reasons but get real.

Default I think we RS4 owners are pretty much shafted when it comes to forced induction options.

Let's just get NAWWWZZZ and be done with it ;-)

Default Well, that's the $32k Swiss price minus their sales tax. After import taxes getting it back into

the US, I'm guessing you'll be back over $30k again.

Default Not a bad price but considering MTM toasted the engine w/in a week

I'm really not sure how long this would last. Granted MTM was probably running a more aggressive tune, but still. That and the fact that I haven't heard of this company before (although it sounds remarkably like Novitec, the Ferrari S/C guys) makes me a little skeptical

Default Where did you hear they toasted the engine within a week?

When Chris wrote his article about the car, it already had 15,000km on it since the s/c install. The issues came up months later.
