Default Here's an interesting story...

Picked up my car at the dealer's today from routine maintenance and to have the PS pump changed (no it is not a RS4 and I assume you already know this).

Anyway I know the guys very well and their lead tech was a friend of mine in school. We started talking about the Euro steering wheel in the RS4 in Europe and how some people here are getting it installed. Well to my surprise they (the dealer) had just finished such an installation on a customer's car. They ordered the parts, they installed it and they recoded the system with the proper code. BTW, they confirmed to me the airbag to be used is from the A8. They assured me that all the parts were the same as the Euro car and that it would work correctly.

However, there was another thing they did... They had the customer sign a waiver releasing them from any responsibility in case of an accident.

The parts and the install cost that customer about $2200.00 CAD here in Canada.

Default Very interesting. Thanks.

With all of your knowledge, we need to get you into a RS4 though.

Whats really nuts, a good lawyer would render that waiver useless.

Well being this is in Canada, I don't know if a lawyer could pull it off like in the USA.

Agree...not worth the paper it's printed on. But a nice move by the dealer to do it!

Is there a reason Canada didn't get the euro wheel?

Default Dealer in Mass did this for one of their clients.......

I'll leave it to him to comment on here, but it looked sweet.....However, from someone who just totalled a vehicle head on into a Jersey Concrete barrier thanks to some black ice(not the RS4), I want that airbag working. I have very little doubt that while it may not have saved my life, it certainly saved me from sucking food through a G-tube and living on a vent....
