Hopefully not a repost, but have you seen this on rs246.com about MTM engine upgrades?
Heres the post:
Spoke to Kim Collins at QST the other day and there has already been a SC kit developed in Germany by MTM for the B7 RS4 in conjunction with an exhaust system, the car has produced 580 BHP, this kit will be available in the UK in Jan/Feb I think. They are also talking with a warranty company to give people reassurance ref the engine/gearbox etc.
MTM in Germany spoke to Audi when they were developming the SC kit and Audi said that they think 580 bhp will be fine without internals being changed and so far with a lot of Testing has proven that reliabilty is not an issue !!!!!!!!!!
KIT and exhaust is approx ?15,000 though.<ul><li><a href="http://www.rs246.com/index.php?name=PNphpBB2&file=viewtopic&t=5 6067">http://www.rs246.com/index.php?name=PNphpBB2&file=viewtopic&t=5 6067</a</li></ul>

Your first statement sounds like a bunch of crap. No way will the car support 580 hp reliable with
stock internals.
Notice the only kit that's officially being offered (your 2nd link) is 510 hp and only 383 ft-lbs.
It sounds like it isn't adding much though most of the powerband.

I dont think this is true.. Last time I was at MTM this wasnt the case
I moved back from Germany 6 months ago so that was the last time I was at their shop. I have had some work done to my B7 S4 by them. Anyways, they told me that the internals of the RS4 engine are not strong enough to hold under their supercharger kit. It is the same supercharger they are putting in the S4. Basically he told me they could do the supercharger, but would have to change the internals and the higher red line would be lost in doing this. So you can get alot more power, but lose one of the best characteristics of the engine. Now before someone flames me for this I do believe it is possible they have developed a different supercharger than the one he talked to me about when I spoke with him, but I think its unlikely. Mainly because I dont think they could have developed it that fast since the car is so new. It took them a couple years to fine tune the current S4 supercharger they offer. Anyways, just thought I would pass along what I heard directly from them.
BTW, verr?ct I am on my way back to Germany. I fly in on tuesday and wil be living there for another 3 years back in Ansbach.
