Houston, I think we have a problem.
For the past couple of weeks, I've noticed a strange rattling noise *after* the motor shuts down. It seems to be coming from the right side valve cover/head. Basically, when I shut the motor down, I hear the fan spin down and stop (normal) and that's followed by this rattling noise which lasts about 3-4 seconds....it sounds similar to a 10-speed bike coasting to a stop. The noise isn't present at idle, and the motor seems to be running good as ever.
WTF is that? Timing chain? If it's 'normal', I guess I just never noticed it before.

yesterday, I opened the hood while it was idling, and then had my wife shut down the motor...
definitely seems to be coming from the right cylinder head area, and it happens immediately *after* the radiator fan has come to a complete stop.

Could it have something to do with your deflap? It's over on that side. I see richi's is de-flapped also.
