How do people like sport mode?
I am wondering what folks think about sport mode. Is the better throttle response worth the more abrubt and jerky movement of the car?
I tend to hit S when getting on a highway or makeing agressive passing moves. My favorite part about it is the increased growel from the exhaust, but I don't know how much better it will accelerate with S vs normal mode. I imagine all magazines use Sport mode to measure their performance specs.

I don't find it jerky at all. However, if you want the exhaust note, without S-mode, just pull the vacuum lines to the exhaust flap and clamp them off. The valves will remain open all the time.
BTW, performance at full throttle is identical in both modes. In fact, even with S disengaged the throttle flap opens automatically at 5000 rpm.

Oil question again!.......has anyone tried the Motul 5-40, any stats?.
About to change oil this afternoon, choice's are Elf LDX 5-40, Motul 0-30 X Lite or Motul 5-40........I am leaning towards the Motul 5-40.
Thank you.
Thank you.

Re: Comparable to Elf, a bit better than Castrol, X-lite is not 502 approved.
I have given up on the issue of what is approved, I just want the best oil for the car. Last oil change was with Elf LDX 5-40, had to add 1 liter after 3000kms and noticed oil temp up to 101 driving at 160kmh for extended period. Just want negate the oil dilution as much as possible.........

How many different oils have yuu run in your car?...
how's that bio oil doing, by the way? Quiet and cool running? Any increased noise? How about at cold start? Everything good so far?

X-Lite not approved...do you think because of weight or composition? I'm beginning to wonder how exactly VAG approves per 502. I always assumed it was add pkg, but now am leaning more towards proper viscosity...which wouldn't mean much.

Re: Elf, Motul, Rotella, and a Bio oil
Sounds good on the bio oil. You're a brave guy, Scott. Would you consider Mobil 1?... and if so, in a 5w-30? I still believe it to be better than the other mass market brands, that aren't even a true synthetic(hydro-cracked instead).
