Default How much better is the RS4 in wet conditions? vs M3?

I'm looking to pick up an RS4 as I'm relocating to Seattle in the next few weeks. For those who've driven both RWD and the RS4 in wet conditions. How much better is the AWD compared to RWD in the wet? I'm coming from an M3 and since it rains a ton up there I think the car may not be too fun. Opinions? I love the new M3 but I just think the pacific northwest is not the place. Is Audi Quattro system worth it? Deciding between E92 M3 and RS4. Anyone driven both?

As a prior E46 M3 and current RS4 owner I can tell you the RS4 is much more solid and you will feel it. That being said I am from NY and could get away with the M3 in the rain, but the snow and ice was another story. I have had vettes, mustangs and by far the worst car in the snow and ice was the M3. I hope this helps.

Default should have tried different tires on the m3, so many people out there who get angry when the car

doesnt handle in the snow/winter and they have summer tires on. Doesnt matter, AWD or not, if you have the wrong tires you will go into a pole.

Thank you. I was just thinking that with the average number of days of rain in Seattle I would not be able to throughly enjoy the M car. If you can really feel the RS4 is much more planted then the M in the rain then I'll make the scarfice for rain "plantedness" for RWD huckablility.

as with any quattro audi (Torsen) , if you put great winter tires on it, you'll be amazed!

Default would you mind comparing your experience as an owner of both?

The 2 cars I'm considering right now are an e46 m3 (hopefully competition pkg if i can find one) and the rs4.

I understand the difference between quattro+4 doors is going to be a very personal decision, but can you compare the 2 cars in your experience?

Also - I'm going to guess your m3 got noticed a lot more? I don't like driving a big attention getter, and am not looking forward to the "snob factor" of an m3. Can you comment on that in regards to both as well?

Thanks!
