How much Should I pay for a 2008 Brand New MSRP 73,785
Dealers in my area have multiple cars, now that the new m3 is out and cars like the nissan gtr, sales on rs4 have halted. I remember when dealers had the last few rs6's in summer 03 audi put money on the cars. Should I wait till the summer to do a deal?

I am interested also and was just about to post as well.
I have access to 2 sedans ($78k) and 1 cab ($85). Was told $1500 off MSRP when just chatting w/ sales guy.
Curious what one should expect in terms of $'s off MSRP or how much over invoice.
I was shocked to see so many RS4 Sedans and Cabs still available.

I sell Porsche and I know the market and that patience pays off on certain cars, iT does for my customers ON certain Models. By his summer you should be able to get at least invoice. Remember every german car has about 15% profit however they are broken down different ways as to how they are paid to dealer. So when you buy an rs4 at invoice the dealer is still getting thousands of dollars.
bmw 7.3 front the rest in holdback
audi about the same
mercedes about the same maybe a little less
porsche 13 front 2 back

Re: So you are saying that the dealer stil makes 10k on an Rs4 that is sold at invoice?
AT RETAIL ABOUT 9-10000 DEPENDING ON MSRP OF CAR THAT INCLUDES HOLDBACK FROM AUDI, FORGET ABOUT WHAT THE SALESMAN SHOWS YOU IN HIS COMPUTER SCREEN. OR WHAT SHOWS UP ON CARS.COM ETC.BUT THEY ARE ENTITLED TO MAKE MONEY THEY CERTAINLY DO NOT MAKE MUCH ON A4'S

Wow, if you work for Porsche do you give your customers $10,000 off?
If the invoice shows that is what the dealer pays, then that is what they pay. Forget holdback/floorplan money. Most dealers have to pay an interest rate on the cars that are on their floorplan every month. Some cars sit for months and others are sold coming in so it kind of balances out.
I got to see the invoice on the RS4 I just bought and it wasn't nearly what you think. I was shocked to see that the margin was so low. And after I paid for PDI and Dealer Handling I was damn near MSRP again. I didn't get the car for invoice anyway so I guess it's kind of a moot point.
I think a lot of BMW dealerships would disagree with your comment that there is $15,000 profit in all German cars. My buddy that works for them tells me that there is about 3.5 - 4% in most of their cars. Anyway, just thought I'd chime in.
