Default HRE Monoblock Owners

For those running HRE Monoblocks what type(ball or cone) and lengh lug nuts are you running. Just wanted to Know if the stock bolts work. One member had to purchase longer lug nuts and if that is the case that is not right on a high end wheel.

Default 2nd. Raider, the rule of thumb is that you want *seven* full turns of the bolt.

As for ball vs. cone, that's info that should have been given to you by the retailer. If ball seat, *make sure* that they got the radius correct on the wheel. Audi has uses R13 ball seats.

If the HREs are R13 ball seat and you get seven turns, you're good with stock bolts.

Count the turns. Turns include all those down to 88 lb/ft (or whatever the HRE torque spec is).

Default Audi spec

60 deg cone

pitch 14 x 1.5
shank dia 14mm
thread to thread 1.5 mm

1/2" ~ 12.7 mm or 8+ threads, you should be fine if you have 1/2" exposed...
iirc you need a minimum of 8 threads engaged

http://www.eurosportgarage.com/hr-guide/audi.htm</a

Default ? Porsche 911 use studs and lug nuts, Audi use wheel bolts.

not sure about other Porsche models, but I know the 911 and Boxster use lug studs, not bolts.

Default it's not great info. all OEM Audi wheels use ball seat bolts, not cone seat.

look at your oem bolts...they're ball seat.
