$1900 dealer installed, any opinions?

They have to cut out a small part of the front grill of the laser jammer and I'm not to keen on that but they say it needs to be done.

I am also considering a very small 12"x 18" footprint removable 10" Sub and 200W amp to supplement the poor Bass response in the car. They claim it will allow the stock speakers to focus on high and mid range.

S4 - Aero2

I have the K-40 installed in my RS. So far so good (knocks wood). I have noticed reasonable radar alert time, and in the last week, my first two laser alerts were uneventful - even with extra-legal speeds. I paid a little less than you are being quoted.

In Ohio, we are required to have front plates (blecccch), so I opted for the license plate frame laser diffuser.

Go for it.

I paid $2k through the dealer, and like S4 - Aero 2 have the detector/jammer hung below the front license plate frame. System seems to work quite well, I'll get one for my next car too.

Not trying to talk you out of the K40, nor am I saying the V1+Lidatek is better. But is a lot less money. About $400ea. + installation.

Edit: You might want to do some research on the K40. The info I've found (Google "K40 test") says it's about $1400 which includes installation and didn't test well at all, plus was very difficult to use. YMMV.

i got the k40 setup installed in my s4. I got the full system at cost (around $700) and paid to have it installed for another $300. Very nice job on the install and it's very stealth. I also have a v1 and quite honestly the v1 is better. Recommend the v1 + some laser jammer. The one good thing about the k40 is they pay for your speeding tickets. Just got a $300 ticket a month or so ago. Check was in the mail, no questions asked. You still got to get quite a few speeding tickets to make up for the cost.

....works really well. I noticed on a previous thread a nice installation of the concealed display that looked almost flush to the instrument panel, any idea how that was achieved?

Hey...are you still happy w/ your setup? I'm trying to decide between the V1 and Escort X50 w/ the M40 jammer. What did you end up paying for the install? I like the location of your alert light.
