The 4.2-liter V8 currently powering the S4 and S5 isn't going to be around come 2010, when Audi begins fitting both models with the 333 hp, supercharged 3.0-liter V6. Both a six-speed manual and a seven-speed DSG gearbox will be available. The RS5 is due for to launch in July of 2010, with power provided by a 450 hp variant of the 4.2-liter FSI V8 and the seven-speed DSG will be the only gearbox available.



I am pretty sure the SC 3.0 V6 is going to be a blast though.

Really! That is disappointing news. Hopefully by popular demand they will bring a 6-spd in like the M5. I also heard the Rs5 will be pushing 500lbs torque.

not chance of 500 lbs of torque, rather 500 Nm which is 368 lb-ft

Hmm.. it's saying the B8 is going to be a turbo... yet it's being touted lately as supercharged

DSG may be faster, but I'm not in an F1 race. Manuals are more fun to me.
