Default ECU flash?
Perhaps I am paranoid, but it seems like a good way for them to flash your ECU. A couple people weren't happy with their cars after the 2007 checksum ECU flash fix. Probably just in their heads though.

Default They are collecting real world emission data and other data points
I did this about a year ago. A guy will come to your work or home. Hook up his laptop and download ECU data. The easiest $100 ever. They are required to collect this data to show how their cars are doing in real world scenarios.
