i got a reply from that signhautosport chip company
the gains on this car are around 26hp and about the same for tq. We originally tested this car about 2 years (we've been working on them for a while now). We'll raise the rpm, remove the speed limiter, advance the timing in the mid range/top end, etc, etc.
We can also programme this car via OBD2 (which I prefer), we were the first company in NA to programme this car.
I also recommend changing the air filters to K&N just to let it breathe a little better.
Let me know if you have any further questions.
Thanks,
Jags
hmmmm......the KN thing scares me (never had one good experience with those things) and "raise the rpm"? really? 8300 isnt enough?

That's pretty much what they told me also, back in december when I emailed them. Except looks like now they can use the OBD II slot. I would tell them (or any tuner) not to raise the RPM - that's asking for trouble for nothing really gained except what a couple hundred RPM?? But I do think there are worthwhile gains to be had in smoothing out and increasing power delivery below 5500 RPM.

I don't get the timing advance thing. My car already pulls out plenty of advance on 93 octane (R+M/2) in the winter. So instead of pulling 8-10 degrees, it will then pull 10-14 degrees? And many tests have show that K&N flows no better than stock paper element - IF the oil doesn't fowl your MAF first. Finally, raising the rev limiter might (maybe) increase HP but wow, these motors are expensive!
Now that speed limiter removal-thingy I can certainly use... at the pub during bench-racing sessions!
Let's just say I'm not going to be the first to chip the RS4. Waiting for proof.

Timing correction sensitivity and and magnitude can be adjusted...
but that makes things more dangerous.
I agree. There isn't much you can realistically do with this engine other than tuning FOR higher octane fuel.

Awhile back someone on the S4 forum measured air flow using the MAF sensor and tested K+N versus
stock and found no increase in air flow with K+N. There are several reports of damaged MAF sensors from the oil on the K+N filters.
