Default I have a 1.8 mile track only 45 minuets from the house. I need some

tips. Have any of you tracked any of your cars? What do I need to know? Will standard insurance coverage do? It seems like I will need to get the Clear Bra if I will be running fast and close on a track. I plan on taking the day class they offer is that adequate to get started.

Default insurance should cover you if it's a 'school' and not a competitive event.

you can use some racer's tape to protect the car, clearbra isn't necessary. if it's a driving school, they'll have a tech inspection...torque your wheel bolts, check tire pressures, etc. make sure you have a FULL tank of gas, it goes quickly when you're driving on a track. i've seen people run out of gas at track events...pretty embarrassing. i'm sure the school will go over everything else you need to know.

Default unfortunately disagrees with my experience

my insurance company said they would not cover anything that happens at a track.
I haven't taken my S4 to the track since hearing that.

https://forums.audiworld.com/s4b6/msgs/262194.phtml</a

Default I guess it depends on the carrier and state.

In TX, many carriers cover any vehicle used in a non-timed, non-competitive event.

Obviously it would be best to call beforehand.

Default

at a minimum you need track pads, high temp brake fluid, and a helmet.

Default Re: at a minimum you need track pads, high temp brake fluid, and a helmet.

I would think, given the quality of the braking system in the RS4, the Audi engineers would have used fluids that meet track specs. In R&T's article they stated there was not a hint of brake fade or malfunction after a full day of hammering the RS4 on a track. These are the Gallardo's brakes - not parts from the ol' Audi bin.
