Default I like driving with the centre armrest in the lowest position...

but when I park it needs to be raised to make room for the hand brake. Once I get going again it seems that the only way I can lower it is to raise it to the top and then put it all the way back down again. Am I missing something? I've looked in the manual and it shows an "A" and "B" button. The "A" button is supposed to lower adjust the armrest height. I can only find the "B" clip lever that opens up the storage area.

Default interesting question. there are *supposed* to be 2 buttons...

...one to open the armrest compartment, and one to adjust height. This is how it is on my RS4. However, on my old B7 S4 (which has the same center armrest assembly), the height adjustment button was apparently jammed...it never worked, even when the car was brand new. I recall watching a TV show review of the S4 where they had the same problem, so this isn't just a fluke. I'd tell the dealer about it when you go in for the first service.

Default i was under the impression that the new design had an auto catch on it

you pulled the armrest all the way up, and then you moved it to whereever you wanted it and it locked into the nearest position. Thats how mine works.

Default nope. mine has a larger button below the catch release.

have you tried pushing in the catch release (instead of pulling up)?

Default The catch release won't push in...I'll call my salesman...thanks for your help.

I didn't bother getting the Premium Package but I find it hard to believe that it wouldn't be standard on the base model.

Yeah, I see now that he's posted a pic. Didn't know they switched to a different type.
