Default I Need Tires with a Larger Contact Patch (section or tread width)

What size tire would have the largest tread width that would fit on a 2007 RS4 with 19" x 9" RS6 five-spoke wheels with an offset of 35mm? The spec's for the stock 2007 RS4 wheel and tire sizes are as follows: 19" x 9" with 29mm offset, tires are 255/35 ZR19. I believe the PZero's have a 10" section width. Any assistance or comments would be appreciated.

Default let some air out...

Letting air out is the quickest way to increase the size of the tire patch.

I assume that you want to stay with 355-35-19s, BFGoodrich KDWs run wide. Yokohama Advans do too.

Yes...that's a good idea. But I was looking for a bigger impact on the appearance of the tread width of the tire (i.e. a fatter tire). A Corvette Z06 has a tread width on the rear tires of about 11.6". What size tire can I go with that will make a signifacant change in the width and still work on the RS4? I'll make calls to Hartmann and Tire Rack tomorrow, I just thought some of you guys/girls may have some ideas.

Default Based on history...

B5 S4 OEM 225s safely upgradeable to 235s
B6/B7 S4 OEM 235s safely upgradeable to 245s

I assume that 265-35-19 would work just fine. Added tire height will actually make the fender gap smaller. You are right about calling Hartmann.

Focus instead on a better performing tire. A good 255 tire > a mediocre 265 tire,

Default Oh.. I thought he wanted a larger contact patch because he was looking for more performance.

I guess if he's just after looks he could have picked up a used A4 3.0 unltrasport instead.. I hear those are pretty much as fast as the RS4.

Default why do you feel you near a wider tire?

if you're going for absolute performance, you'd be better off adjusting that loose nut behind the wheel.

For Appearance Only...at this point. I haven't even driven an RS4 yet.

Yup, I agree for performance better tire compound may be all that is needed.
