Most fun I've had on the track so far. That course was designed for our cars, no question about it.

I was there in the silver RS4. Were you one of the daytona cars, or the blue one? (I met Jon in the car with larryV's old exhaust. Maybe you're him in disguise.)

Great fun. And that track is quite a challenge.

Default No, I'm not Jon. I was in the Lava Grey car, hanging around the TJR crew.

Was running in the novice group with the Mugello (I think) car.

I was definitly the dirtiest RS4 there.

I noticed it was a bit bath deprived. :-)

I was talking to Darrell and he mentioned he worked with you on changing the front pads. What kind did you put in? I've used Pagid Blacks for the last two ACNA events at Road America. They're still on the car so I don't know how much is left. But after the first event there wasn't much gone at all. My first time there with this car in 2006 I went completely through the stock front pads. And got a pretty soft pedal because the fluid got so hot. With the competition pads and the fluid changed to Motul RBF650 braking is no longer an issue. (Well, the mental part still is.)

Default Yup, was there last year. Surprisingly kind to brakes even though it has 5th gear straights!

I guess the straights are long enough to give the brakes plenty of time to cool between turns. It's a lot kinder to brakes than blackhawk farms and autobahn CC that's for sure and the RS4 loves every bit of Road America except maybe the carousel where understeer takes the fun out of things a bit. I wish the RS4 could've defied physics enough to take the carousel just a little bit faster but quattro is so secure that the even the kink remains uneventful if you somehow screw it up like I did a few times.

Was planning on being there to join the fun with you but visiting relatives screwed it up for me. How many RS4s were there this time? I counted four last year.

Default I've been using Pagid Rs-15 or 17 or 19 or something like that

Not the endurance pads, but the race pads. Been working great.

Default The straights are definitlely long enough to give the brakes a good amount of cool air

however, some larger ducts leading directly onto the brakes couldnt hurt either.

You are absolutely correct about the carosul and understeer. But, with a very solid suspension set-up, (will Moton EVER get working on that?????), and some very sticky rubber, I would imagine that the carosul would be much more eventful, in a good way.

That poor R8. That guy must have been uber-scared about messing up his baby. I couldnt help but smirk just a little bit every time he gave me the point by entering the front straight. If he would have just hammered down just once....
