i'm thinking of trading for rs4

Well mind you..
I have only 54 miles driven on it and I'm the paranoid neurotic Adrian Monk of performance cars. In other words, I am still collecting my impressions of this car vs. the S4. Others can give more comprehensive comparisons.
That said my feeling is that so far the power differences and torque are obvious. The engine wants to deliver power at almost anywhere in the powerband almost regardless of what gear you're in.
In a word, this car is almost too easy, it just goes goes goes. The S4 had sweet spots that you had to hit.
I suggest you test drive it and decide for yourself. I will say that earlier on I doubted whether the car was worth the added money over the S4, but I no longer doubt that.

Keep your ride man, it's beautiful, don't jump on the RS4 fad just yet...
There are tons of hot cars about to come from Audi, be patient and it'll pay off. Case in point, the A5. Another- the R8. The S6. The supposed "RS6". the TT and rumor has it, TT-R.
Besides, think of the engine you're buying with the RS4. Its the first of its kind, soon Audi will slap a Bi-Turbo to that FSI and you'll have HP north of 500hp.
Patience.
