"Induction Service"
Does anyone know for sure if "perform induction service" is what Audi uses to describe the carbon cleaning for the RS4? I ended up paying $485 which I know is less than what everyone else is saying the carbon cleans cost from Audi. Since my local dealer has made a couple mistakes on a few other things I just want to make sure they took care of the right thing. I don't want to have to pull the motor apart to check their work. I guess my next dyno run will tell me for sure but it'd be nice to confirm that they did the right work.

That term seems more suited for the BG induction cleaning using the BG chemicals and their apparatus. Sounds a bit expensive though for the non-invasive procedure. But way too cheap for doing the job correctly by pulling the intake manifold. You should ask.

I should add that if the procedure was non-invasive, it's absolutely worthless on the RS4's coking problem. You might as well use fairy dust.

Well I picked up about 15hp on the dyno so I guess it did something. If only I could get Audi to replace my cat that has a knocking sound coming from it I think I'd be at full power. But of course they won't until the check engien light comes on.

My dealership charges like $195 for induction service..and yes its basically BG cleaning....I asked how much for a full intake manifold cleaning and they quoted $1600-$1800 wowsers!!! Luckily I think I may have convinced "carmax" to do the work...since thats where I bought my car less than 30 days ago...wish me luck! I think they will sub it out to dealer (since they have an acct with them) or local eurpean mechanic shop...

most states/provinces don't take failing emissions components lightly. I'd submit that you could force the dealer's hand in that regard. Contact your DMV and ask what the regulations are.
