Default i've been thinking...the best bang for the buck in terms of tuning for the RS4....

...would have to be a race gas program (100 octane). Giac gets +23hp and +28tq in the S4 V8, so the RS4 *should* enjoy at least those gains on 100 octane. By my rough calculations, the cost of running race gas for an entire year would be about $1600 above the current cost of 91/93 octane (assuming 1 tank per week). So for $1600/year, you get, perhaps, 25hp? Not bad. The only other mod currently available that has been proven to increase HP is the Milltek, which is $1700 + installation minimum, and reportedly gives 20hp at the crank.

So tuners, if you're listening, develop a race gas program for the RS4!

I run 101 Race Gas as the norm since my Board of Directors see fit to give me a credit card with no limit for expenses! haha, suckers!

So I hope they do it!

Default also don't forget that the milltek non-res will also save you about 20 lbs in weight...

so that's like the equivalent of at least 150 hp at the wheels, give or take 50

Closer to 2HP for a 20 lbs weight reduction and still worth doing!

Default already did that....

...along with removal of the liquid bubble gum dispenser, tool kit, tire pump, cd changer, sat radio, owners manual, and of course sunroof delete. Instant FREE 10HP. Yes, I really do drive the car this way.

Default LMAO! The reason I asked is because I have a spare rotor in the glovebox...

funny thing, had a friend in the passenger seat who opened the glovebox to look at my spare rotor. I accelerated hard from a stop and the thing came flying out and landed in his lap. He's on ED meds now : )

Default Now you're getting warm

Just programming for "normally" good gas (93 octane) would bump up HP 10-20 I would guess. Automakers tend to (de)tune timing, based upon an expectation of crummy gas and people cheaping out with mid-range or worse.

Powerchip does this (no RS4 application yet) and offers a 93 version and even a 91 version for the supressed proletariats on the Left Coast.
