Picked up a 2007 RS4 Daytona Grey/Black this morning. My dealer offered me a fantastic deal and I decided not to wait for the E91 M3 although was tempted by the upcoming M3 hardto vert.
I am impressed albeit 23 miles so far. This car has the smoothest manual I have ever driven.
Unlike every other car I have ever bought, this one requires little in aftermarket, yet one question where would you point me if I wanted to lower it just an inch or so.
Thanks in advance.

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! Lucky ba$tard!
I'm struggling with the same lowering issue. I actually like the DRC system and don't want to "invest" (haha) thousands to replace it. I've had excellent luck with a previous car using H&R springs which are now available for the RS4. They lower less than an inch, are only a few hundred dollars, and on my old car they didn't negatively effect ride quality at all. But I don't really want to be the guinea pig!

I'm in the same situation. Was going to wait for the new M3 but I am thinking of buying an RS4. I drove my friend's last weekend as was very impressed. The gearbox is great and far better than the 6 speed that was in my E46 M3. I am going to look at a daytona grey at the dealer's this morning.

The car already sits relatively low if you actually measure the fender gap. The problem is.....
the very low profile tires give the illusion of a larger fender gap. In all honesty, if this car came with 18" wheels and 255/40/18 tires, I think it would still have looked very nice, and the fender gap would have appeared much smaller. The actual fender gap is only 1.3" in front and 1" in the rear.
