Just a thought . How fast is "fast enough"
We are always comparing cars as to performance numbers. But at what point does it no longer make any difference. Maybe it can never be fast enough?

Realistically, the 2.0T A4 is probably fast enough for me on the typical day...
I have asked my self the same question many times, but always end up buying the highest performance version of whatever vehicle I have decided to purchase. I use my RS4 as my daily driver and it is rare I "need" all of the power. That said, the RS4 sure is a fun car to own and drive.

I have been trying to make this point for a long time.......
Another question to ask is how fast is too fast for a public roadway? While I love my RS4, there are times when using that power is dangerous.....and......it is very easy to use that power. It is fast enough for me and then some, and is a very comfy and utilitarian daily driver when I don't want to use that power. Like I said, if speed was the only thing that mattered, I would have bought a Z06 Vette.

Getting close to the limit
For me, I don't want to go to 200mph on a public roadway, but getting to 60 as fast as possible on an open road can be fun because of the feeling from the g's. I have always had very fast cars. I also have liter sport bikes that can hit 60 in under 3 seconds. But I am far more talented on a motorcycle than in a car. So I have found my RS4 may be at my limit, and that is in a straight line. It gets you to speed so fast, that I find I don't use all the power it can offer. There is almost never enough open public road to do that before you are over legal limits. So 2nd gear gives me the most fun moments. Beyond that, overkill for the road. That don't mean I don't want more HP though. But I think cars will hit a wall at 3 secs to 60 and about 800hp for the road.

In that sense, my A4 2.0T is MORE fun... since I can use most of the power.. but...
forget the fact that the RS4 is faster. The reason I'm even contemplating the beast most of you already own is because of the amazing all-around ability and nature of that RS4. I knew I would fall in love with the sound of that V8 (where the HELL does that supercharger - like whine come from? and why do I love it?) but it's truly amazing how much different it feels than my A4.
I can make a lot of good arguments against getting one right now, but I know for certain that the RS4 is worth every penny. You guys have a VERY special ride...
