laser jammer installation
For those of you guys that have laser jammers, did you install it yourself? Looking at the radardetector.net site, it seems the thing to have is the "laser interceptor" product. I am considering getting one but I'm not sure how complicated it is to install. Any thoughts? If you had it "professionally" installed, who did you use? Thanks in advance.

Was that you on Arlington right before the Tufts 10k Monday??
I was about 3 cars behind you, but could not catch you as the race was just beginning...
On the Jammer....
I had it professionally installed, though Cheetah now makes a bluetooth system for it....

I went to Rich's Auto Tunes.. they do good work but super expensive

If you take a close look at the pic, you can see one of the two heads just below the RS4 logo.

thanks for the info... $1k is not bad at all
I checked around the NYC area. The top dog guys are a place called AI Design. They are booked solid five to six weeks out and want $3500 for a quad blinder and concealed / stealth V1 installation. Considering the parts, fully loaded is like only about $1000, the installation cost is $2500.
I called another place that I met when I went to the auto show this year, took a buddy of mine for his birthday. Anyway, those guys wanted $3300 for the job... they were going to do the automotive data research V1 interface that goes into the MFC in the center of the instrument panel rather than trying to embed the display in the mirror. Anyway, the ADR costs $200 so the install is like $2100.
Got some other quotes, on the low end about $700, and most knowledgable people seem to want about $1k. So your $1k for the install wasn't bad at all... but that's for quad heads (dual front / dual rear) plus ADR for the V1. Not sure what you are running with your V1.

Re: laser jammer installation
I'm up for a group buy effort, I'm in with at least 1-2 other people with cash in hand to get a 4 head unit. The cheapest i've found is on their UK website for approx $900 all said and done with a slight discount and shipping. nick@autox.biz
