Let's be careful out there...
So thanks to a ginormous pothole (WHAMM!!! Crap! What was that and why is my low tire pressure light on?) I had the pleasure of expereincing a flat tire (destroyed tire actually) in a car without a spare. Audi Roadside assitance, flatbed tow, etc.
While that part is unremarkable, a word of warning... The tires for our beasts are a wee bit hard to find - at least around here in Seattle. P Zero Rossas in my case. Nearest set 4 days away during which time my toy is an oversized paperweight.
Might I offer for your consideration - if you know you're going to replace the OEM rubber when its time anyway -just going ahead and get an extra tire to stash in the garage. Call it a remote spare. I ordered *two* tires so as not to have this happen again.
Now as luck would have it I have never had a flat tire while driving before today - which while no doubt lucky, was just as obviously never going to remain the case once I bought a car without a spare. Fates wouldn't allow it

see my post about my destroyed wheel....
rubber is very expensive for this car. What I did was take off the damaged rim and took it to a cheapo rim place and got it "repaired". I will use it as my spare.

This place in Boston does AMAZING rim repairs and straightening for a reasonable cost
My wife took out a chunk, and I mean a chunk, of the lip off my SSR's on my Lexus. I gave it to these guys, they shipped it off to Alabama somewhere to some welding expert who had to add metal to the lip to fill it in.
All I can say is that it looks like new. Color matched, absolutely perfect.
