I cannot provide you with even a guesstimate of the weight savings without a sunroof but...
One thing is for sure and unlike what daveak05 said a steel roof is a lot lighter.
The thickness of the roof panel is very thin, I know because I took out my interior. The steel panel over the area where a sunroof would cover is a lot lighter than the glass used in the sunroof. I'm sure the glass panel is at least 5 times thicker if not more.
Add to this the tracks the liner, the motor and switches and there is some weight involved. Is it 20 lbs or 50 lbs? I don't know.

hey
i didn't say the steel panel is heavier than the glass panel replacing it. i said you have to account for the steel panel and headliner(that would be there) when considering any weight of the sunroof and components.
so that it's understood that you can't just weigh your entire sunroof(or get a weight figure on it) and then say that's the addtl weight.
i have said all along that i don't believe the DIFFERENCE is anywhere near 75 lbs, or even 50 for that matter. but, of course, i could be wrong and have said so...while asking for a verifiable weight difference.

It'll be about treefiddy! *( Webasto(OEM??) 700 moonroof ~55lbs - roof/nsulation/hdliner <=20lbs

UPDATE on the weight of a sunroof. I was told this weekend that a B5 S4 sunroof and its components..
Weigh in at close to 35 lbs from someone that stripped a B5 S4 to make it a race car.
He actually weighed everything that came off the car. Perhaps the B6/B7 sunroofs weigh even more.
