Choosing a base 911 was absurd in that line-up.

Default stupidest thing I ever read

Quote:

"Some of you might also be wondering why we chose the base 911 over the much more powerful and all-wheel-drive-equipped 911 Turbo. The answer is simple: price. This base Porsche 911 costs about the same as the Nissan GT-R. We thought that was relevant. Just how much Porsche do you get for the cost of the big bad Nissan?"

It didnt stop them from choosing $134545 Audi R8 and $38940 Mitsubishi. I am sure all Mitsubishi buyers out there are considering Nissan GTR, Audi R8 and a Porsche as an alternative and just cant make up their mind! lol

True, but pick an R8 at ~135K and then the base 911 makes no sense.

I agree. But I love the last line. Chevy and Dodge probably don't like Edmunds anymore.

Default What they need to mention is the likelihood of purchasing a GTR @ 70k from your local nisan dealer..

They likely have to pay R8 or 911 turbo money to get that GTR

Default well, i work for edmunds, and i was scratching my head too...

...until i saw that Porsche didn't have any 997 turbos in their press fleet that were on the west coast at the time this story was written, so my guess is that it had to be 'taken in a different direction.' still, this story will undoubtedly create some backlash for our editorial department. As for the ZO6 and SRT-10, there are two each in the west coast press fleet. Wonder where they were at the time?

Default What's really impressive is the R8's lap times

as they're just *barely* behind the GT-R's... even though it's significantly lacking in the power department by comparison (see 0-60 and 1/4mi times). Impressive.

We all expect the Evo X to be a good all-'rounder... although I can't imagine anyone trying to decide between an R8, GT-R, 911, and Evo... except maybe you

Quick Reply: look at that little evo go! (as well as audi r8 content)
