Was shocked to hear that in 18", same offset, perfect fitting, the cost is $630 vs 350ish for 19".

I thought it would be cheaper. wtf?!

Just got an update - wheels cna be had for ~495 if a set of 4 is purchased - seems a good deal more reasonable. I still to this point have yet to find a wheel that looks better. I wish the 18" came in Titanium...

Default If you do get the titanium... Please post some pics. I'd love to see what titanium wheels look like

on Daytona.

FWIW, I ran 19's with Dunlops all winter and they performed well

Default I'm in RI and the roads can get pretty nasty around here.

Did the rims fare well? Where are you located?

Default Reno...

One night we had significant snow and slippery conditions. Cars were scattered all along the side of the hill I drive up to get home and I really had to make an effort to break the tires loose. That was with 255/35-19's. The performance was as good for rest of the season. I can only imagine how well 225's or 235's would perform.

Regarding wheel durability, I put a coat of wheel wax on before the season and when I took my wheels off and washed them, they looked essentially new (save for on small curb rash I sustained unrelated to the weather).

Your best performance will be with 225's or 235's on 18" wheels. Several people here have that set up. IIRC, one or two ran 235's on stock wheels. I am no expert, but I believe that for most people, under most conditions, the 255/35-19 winter tires are more than adequate.
