Re: That post wasn't worth registering for. No RS4 content.
You're not going to see RS4 content because the RS4 is hard to falter, even by the M3 guys...

Yes, and speaking of "**** poor engineering"...
...I'm assuming in this "engineer's" myopic opinion the well documented problems with the SMG transmission in 2005 / 2006 M5s don't count. This thread is one of many on the M5 board on this topic:

http://www.m5board.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=93450&highlight=SMG</a

SMG is a clunker
BMW is just waiting to get up to speed on a DSG equivalent, and then dump SMG. yes, you could say that they missed the boat on that one, while VW forged ahead with the early and very successful development of DSG, which is almost universally acclaimed.

Speaking of BMW's DSG like system here's the official word on it...
BMW dealers in Europe have received the officially official specs of the new M3 only to discover that the car with be offered with a new seven-speed double-clutch gearbox, much like the DSG trannies used by VW/Audi. Dubbed the M DCT (M Dual Clutch Transmission), the cog swapper is expected to speed up shifts and shave a couple of tenths off the car's 0-60 time, which should put it squarely in the 4.5-second range, if not quicker. The system, developed and produced by Getrag, will likely be better received than BMW's maligned SMG trannies and eventually replace those systems in the 3-Series and 5-Series lineups. The M DCT will be controlled with the requisite paddle shifters on the steering wheel and an odd little joystick control on the center console like the one in the M5 and M6.

http://www.autoblog.com/2007/05/31/m3-meet-dsg-bmw-m3-gets-7-speed-double-clutch-box/</a
