Default made a funny impulse buy yesterday

Lemme tell you, there is no doubt, it is a funky little thing. I am having a hard time figuring out in my own mind whats the funniest part about it is. The fact that my RS4 has 6 times the horsepower? The ability to drive like a maniac in Manhattan in between lanes like in Midtown Madness? Parking the car in insanely small spots or parking perpendicular to the rest of the cars? It's some pretty funny stuff.

I don't know what the big deal about it is. Everybody is stopping to take pictures of it and like people are talking about waiting a year for it and whatnot with dealers marking up like $2500 and stuff. I wanted to know what the fuss was all about, called up Mercedes of Manhattan after lunch yesterday. They said they had some, no markup (but I did have to haggle my way out of silly insurance extras and wheel and tire blah blah). Agreed on MSRP, charged it on my card, called up Geico, got it insured, made my way to the dealership and drove away with it... total time less than 4 hours from impulse to drive. I will say that the laughs alone almost justify the money spent. It's some seriously funky and funny stuff.

Default Nice move!

I'm sure it will be a blast in its own way. Beats getting a scooter.

Default Not a bad idea considering where you are

I've heard those things are white knuckle cars at speeds over 60. It'll keep the miles and dings down on the RS too. Congrats

Default so like when I called Geico, the lady on the phone was asking me

if I thought the car was safe, blah blah, considering buying one and like whatnot and I was like, tell you what, call me in a week and if I don't pick up, you'll know that it's not safe!

Yeah, while it's not a total PoS, it's pretty damn close. But it's so freaking funny it's almost worth it.

Default MB of manhattan is not a good dealership btw

Took my CLK there for a warranty fix (after braving 2 hours of holland tunnel traffic) and they found some $6K of things that were wrong with the car. Interestingly enough I had it inspected earlier that year at MB of Ann Arbor, MI (#2 on customer satisfaction taht year) and they found nothing wrong with it. I'd steer clear of that place.
