Default MagnaFlow for RS4

Hi Guys;

Long time lurker, first time poster.

Just wondering what you all think of the sound of this setup:
http://www.magnaflow.com/04sound/sportsound/07rs4.html

The system is a protoype for the Bullrun car we've put together.

I spoke to the owner of our company, and we're considering putting it into production, but I wanted to gauge interest.

System is about 30+ lbs lighter than stock. There's no drone on the inside of the car. I've driven the car for two days and I can't get enough of the sound. This system uses dual/dual tips, but are they big enough for you folks? It may be possible to go bigger, but we'd most likely have to switch to single walled tips...which have a tendency to to turn yellow/gold after awhile.

The double tips stay shiny forever 9so long as you wash them periodically).

Car is basically louder than it is with the S button on all the time, but it is only loud outside the car. Interior noise is slightly increased, but again, with no drone.

As you may know, the stock system utilizes a 2 into 1 muffler with a unique bend inside it. When the S button is activated, the valve opens and the exhaust is more free flowing. Our system basically makes it free flowing all the time.

Car picked up a bit of power and torque...until the dyno numbers are in, I'd guess about 10-20 hp and a similar torque increase.

Assuming this system came in at less than $850 retail, (probably about $500-600 street price), would there be interest?

System would have a Lifetime Warranty,is a full bolt up kit and is very easy to install. All components are 100% stainless steel.

Email me for more information, or input.

Default Re: MagnaFlow for RS4

I would have some interest, although I am not dissatisfied with the stock setup. Obviously, the factory warranty issues on the car would have to be adequate following the mod. We know how AoA can be about mods...

Default im interested for the weight savings alone, 10 to 20 may be

optomistic. Also proven dyno sheet would help sell your product.

I'd prefer the stock tips, but otherwise it seems like a good deal.

Default Sounds great. I agree the stock tips look better but I would really like...

oval stainless tips - maybe just a fraction larger than stock, probably double walled.

Default Interesting, I don't recall anyone putting Magnaflow on their B6/B7 S4s

This seems to be a very common and inexpensive mod that the C6 Corvette owns do( $350). They order the apropriate muffler, cut off the stock mufflers and tips, weld the magnaflow and weld the stock tips back on. Improves sound without a big expense. Alternative tips can also be used but it increases the cost. Since the catback systems are really just for the sound, it would seem to be a less expensive way to improve the sound as long as you were happy with the tone and volume.

Default Sounds good and I can attest to MF's quality, sound, etc.

Although I had it on my cheapo-american SUV, it was the system I ended up with after going through 5 others. They knew not all people wanted that loud flowmaster sound on their chevy tahoe, but something that actually sounded class(ier) with added performance, and street drivability i.e. torque gains.
