In the market for a RS4
I am in the market for a new car to replace my B7 S4 Avant/MT. I was deciding between the B8 S4 and a RS4. For various reasons, I have my heart set on a RS4 and have been searching for one for a few weeks. I came across one that has very low miles with a Silver interior. I would appreciate comments on how this color interior would hold up over time.
Thanks.

It gets dirty easily if you're not careful but it's also very easy to clean. I clean and condition it using good leather products about once per year and it's probably the best wearing leather I've had in a car. Nappa is top shelf stuff.

As for the B8 S4, also a great car. I have to say though nothing about it make me want one. Too big, and just doesn't sound fun. That seems highly superficial, but it's true...and it's a big part of subjective feel. Add that to the fact that it's lost in a sea of other B8 S4s and B8 A4s which are almost indistinguishable, and it loses a lot of appeal. The B8 S4 guys talk about 335i being too common etc. but the B8 sales are gaining RAPIDLY on the 335. I'm not so sure I see more 2010+ 335i owners running around than B8 S4s. Performance is amazing though.
On that note, tune + intake + exhaust (about $3500 in mods) B8 S4s on pump gas seem to run about 12.5-12.7 at about 110-111 in the quarter mile, as a measure of acceleration. A JHM tuned + piggies B7 RS4 ($500 if you DIY, $1000 if you don't) will be very similar to that, so you're really not missing out. A JHM tune + full exhaust + a couple of lightweight parts ran 12.30 recently...on California 91 octane gas. The RS4, with proper modifications, is no joke. But let the B8 guys think it is. let them compare dyno sheets all day lol.
Finally the rare factor...the RS factor. There are under 10,000 of these cars on earth. There will be about 10,000 B8 S4s sold EVERY YEAR starting 2009 until they peter out in 2014 or 2015. The RS4 will continue to be a cherished collector of sorts long after the B8 S4 is replaced.

Low mileage is overrated I have 139K on mine and bought it with 126K on the odometer. Car is still solid, but did have the suspension, clutch and brakes redone prior to purchase. Interior is nearly perfect and I still love this car!

Thanks. Glad to hear that they hold up well with that much miles. I plan to keep the car for a while and most likely would still be enjoying it at 140K miles.

139K miles or 139K kilometers? How many carbon cleans?
