Default I have no direct experience with some of the cars mentioned in the article, but have a fair amount

of time in an 06 997 C4S (GF's car that is sadly a Tiptronic)and while it outpoints the RS4 in lateral grip and slalom speed, which it certainly should as a sports car, it is only about half the fun to drive as the RS4. There is no comparison to the sonorous exhaust note of the RS4 and its response in daily driving. Makes the non-Sports Exhaust 997 sound rather thin. I cannot wait to drive the R8 in its launch configuration, much less when they increase engine output.
