Default May be OT for some. Pictures of the Mont Tremblant ACNA' event from Sept. 29th and 30th...

I ran in one of the instructors group on both days. Two pictures from Saturday; the first one was taken in the first session of the day so early in the morning (cool and even cloudy). The track was cold and slippery. The second picture was taken in the early afternoon, so it was so what warmer and sunny. The Sunday pictures are from the first session in the morning, again cool and cloudy. I ran two different types of wheels and tires; on Saturday the BBS with RA1s and on Sunday the SSRs with Kumhos.

For those who have not been or don't know Le Circuit Mont Tremblant here's some info...

TRACK: Arial view.

TRACK: Layout.

DAY 1: Saturday September 29th. I ran on my BBS RCs (17 X 8) with used Toyo RA1s in a 235/40/17 size.

Picture #1: Going into TURN 1. You carry a lot of speed from the front strait away where you just have crossed the start/finish line (pass the tower). You either tap the brakes to set up the turn in into #1 or you lift (if you have big *****). It is a right hander downhill prior to a steep rise for a blind over the hill apex into TURN 2. The suspension compression is very noticeable (you can feel the downwards G force). You can tell in this picture I'm approaching the edge of the track prior to cutting in to the right.

Picture #2: TURN #6. A sweeping left hander where you are still accelerating from the exit of #5. Here I had passed the 911 between 5 and 6. TURN 6 as a slight negative camber to it, when raining or wet... Look out! In the back ground is the "GULCH" which is a steep climb under a bridge between turns 11 and 12.

DAY 2: Sunday September 30th. I ran on my SSR Comps (17 X 8.5) with used Kumho V710s in a 245/45/17 size. The Kumhos on my rear axle were very used and not as sticky as the front ones were. The rear of the car was easily provoked into tail slides. Going into TURN 2 and into TURN 10 could be hair raising at times!

Picture #3: Existing TURN 15 onto the front strait away. In the back ground are a 911 followed by a TT which is followed by the Lotus. The TT and Lotus are in the middle of a complex turn, TURN 14 called Namerow. This picture was taken at 09:07. Keep the times in mind for the next sequence of shots coming up. The photographer took several pictures in a row from this angle over several minutes. This gives us a nice view of some action going on through turn 14 and 15.

Picture #4: Same corners in view. It is now 09:10, roughly 2 minutes after the previous shot. The TT is now no where to be seen and the Lotus as passed the TT and the 911. It is also gaining on me. I have to slow down because of traffic ahead of me (not seen).

Picture #5: Same corners but it is now 09:12 (2 minutes later). I opened some distance on the Lotus.

Picture #6: Same corners. It is now 09:14 and I have pulled away even further ahead of the Lotus.

Picture #7: Same corner. It is now 09:18 (four minutes or 2 laps later). I passed another car prior to Namerow.

Picture #8: Same corners in view. It is now 09:23 or 16 minutes after picture #3. I'm coming up hard on the TT and ready to lap it yet again.
